St. Hilda’s Special School Athlone

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for the following vacancies. All appointments are to Longford and Westmeath Education and Training Board but candidates will be assigned in the first instance to the school listed below during the 2025/2026 session. A panel may also be formed for other vacancies that may arise in St Hilda’s during the 2025/2026 session.


St. Hilda’s is a special school that educates students aged 4-18 with Moderate, and Severe to Profound I.D. Many students have complex needs. Applicants should have experience of working with children/young adults with ASD, Severe to Profound I.D. epilepsy, ADHD, as well as children/young adults with physical disabilities, medical, and personal care needs. Experience in using LÁMH and PECS is desirable. Applicants should have training, knowledge, and experience of managing behaviours of concern. Initial duties are for classes of students presenting with moderate/S/P GLD/ASD.
